Biography
I'm a science writer who has written for Wired, The Atlantic, The New York Times, and other publications and is the author of The 7 Laws of Magical Thinking (Penguin/Hudson Street, 2012). Here's my author bio.
Why SilverJacket? In high school, I bought a silver metallic fireproof jacket for $15 from an Army/Navy guy at a flea market. I wore it for several years as my winter jacket (and still do occasionally). People came to know me by it.
